◆ The Comeback Stories of 5 People and “Luck & Timing”

In the previous MITSURU Blog No.95, I wrote about the comeback stories of five individuals.
Each of them experienced situations of “defeat or setback” and then achieved growth and success once again.

Among these stories, “luck and timing” also emerged as important elements.
But is this merely “a coincidence of good fortune”?
What they all seem to have in common at the core is what I would call:
“An attitude or stance that attracts luck and timing.”

◆ Fundamental Elements in Common
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“They kept moving even after setbacks.”

When faced with failure or setbacks, they adopted the following actions or attitudes:

① They did not stop (they kept taking action)

• Steve Jobs continued creating at NeXT and Pixar even after being ousted from Apple.

• Takeshi Kitano, feeling the limits of being a comedian, stepped into the world of cinema.

• Eiichi Shibusawa, after the samurai path was closed, shifted into the economy using the knowledge he gained in the West.

Between those who stop in disappointment and those who keep moving, a gap will inevitably emerge over time.

② They looked for the next “place” or “field.”

• Kitano moved from the “world of comedy” to the expressive world of “film.”

• Konosuke Matsushita moved from being an “employee” to the path of “entrepreneurship.”

• Cameron shifted from the “commercial film scene” to “building his own worldview.”

They sought a place where they could shine —
this was a “shift in perspective.”

③ They prepared to take advantage of opportunities.

• Pixar was acquired by Disney and hit the big time, but behind that were Jobs’ capital, vision, and persistence.

• Kitano also studied filmmaking techniques and continued to take on overseas film festivals.

• Shibusawa, upon returning to Japan, immediately moved in the “business world” instead of politics.

When the chance (timing) came, they were in a state where they could seize it.

④ They read / rode environmental changes.

• Jobs returned in an era of fusion between technology and design.

• Shibusawa played an active role as an economic leader during the Meiji Restoration, a time of national transformation.

• Cameron realized a new style of filmmaking alongside the evolution of VFX.

They read the flow of the times and rode its “wave.”

◆ The True Nature of “Luck and Timing”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
So, what is the shared true nature of “luck and timing”?
[They kept moving, did not fear change, and prepared for the timing that would eventually come.]

When we hear “luck and timing,” it can sound like “leaving it to chance,”
but in their case, by keeping on moving, they turned coincidence into inevitability.

◆ MITSURU’s Own Example
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Of course, the scale is completely different, so I hesitate to bring up my own case,
but I will share here exactly what I wrote in MITSURU Blog No.94.

This is a story from my past.

My targeted strategic goal (success through a dance team) was not achieved,
but my non-targeted, non-strategic work (dance lessons at sports clubs) naturally grew and produced results.

As an addition to the above,
here are the details of “naturally growing and producing results.”

Natural style = Choreography created by MITSURU.
The characteristic of MITSURU’s choreography is that
participants can feel “Even I could do it!” through the dance lessons.

A program that is 100% my worldview, in other words, dance lessons that only I can give.
There are “people waiting for MITSURU’s lessons”
and “Only MITSURU can give MITSURU’s lessons!” — so I have kept moving all along.

In other words, I am “a person who keeps moving.”
The place where I could shine turned out to be “dance lessons at sports clubs.”

In effect, I “admitted defeat and withdrew” from my main strategic goal,
but my side work grew, and
I came to a realization: “This was my world!”

That’s it.
It may be a bit of a stretch, but even if the scale is different,
I like to think I’ve somehow joined their ranks.

Im vorherigen MITSURU Blog Nr. 95 habe ich die Comeback-Geschichten von fünf Personen beschrieben.
Jede von ihnen hat eine Situation von „Niederlage oder Rückschlag“ erlebt und danach erneut Wachstum und Erfolg erzielt.

Dabei trat „Glück und Timing“ ebenfalls als wichtiger Faktor hervor.
Ist das nur ein „Zufallsglück“?
Ich denke, dass ihnen allen im Kern eines gemeinsam war:
„Eine Haltung oder Einstellung, die Glück und Timing anzieht.“

◆ Grundlegende gemeinsame Elemente
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
„Sie bewegten sich auch nach Rückschlägen weiter.“

Als sie mit Misserfolg oder Rückschlägen konfrontiert waren, nahmen sie folgende Handlungen oder Haltungen ein:

① Sie hielten nicht an (sie handelten weiter)

• Steve Jobs schuf weiterhin bei NeXT und Pixar, selbst nachdem er von Apple vertrieben wurde.

• Takeshi Kitano, der als Komiker seine Grenzen spürte, betrat die Welt des Films.

• Eiichi Shibusawa wandte sich, nachdem der Weg des Samurai versperrt war, mit dem im Westen erworbenen Wissen der Wirtschaft zu.

Zwischen denen, die in Enttäuschung verharren, und denen, die sich weiter bewegen, entsteht mit der Zeit ein Abstand.

② Sie suchten den nächsten „Ort“ oder das nächste „Feld“

• Kitano wechselte von der „Welt des Lachens“ in die Ausdruckswelt des „Films“.

• Konosuke Matsushita ging vom „Angestellten“ zum „Unternehmer“.

• Cameron wechselte von der „kommerziellen Filmproduktion“ zum „Aufbau seiner eigenen Weltanschauung“.

Sie suchten einen Ort, an dem sie glänzen konnten —
das war ein „Perspektivwechsel“.

③ Sie bereiteten sich darauf vor, Chancen zu nutzen

• Pixar wurde von Disney übernommen und hatte einen Durchbruch, doch dahinter standen Jobs’ Kapital, Vision und Ausdauer.

• Kitano lernte die Filmtechnik und stellte sich immer wieder internationalen Filmfestivals.

• Shibusawa ging nach seiner Rückkehr nach Japan sofort in die „Wirtschaft“ und nicht in die Politik.

Als die Chance (das Timing) kam, befanden sie sich in einem Zustand, in dem sie sie ergreifen konnten.

④ Sie lasen / nutzten Umweltveränderungen

• Jobs kehrte in einer Ära zurück, in der sich Technologie und Design verbanden.

• Shibusawa wirkte als Wirtschaftsführer in der Zeit der Meiji-Restauration, einer Epoche des nationalen Umbruchs.

• Cameron verwirklichte zusammen mit der Entwicklung von VFX einen neuen Stil der Filmproduktion.

Sie lasen den Zeitgeist und ritten auf seiner „Welle“.

◆ Das wahre Wesen von „Glück und Timing“
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Was ist also das gemeinsame wahre Wesen von „Glück und Timing“?
[Sie bewegten sich weiter, fürchteten keine Veränderung und bereiteten sich auf das irgendwann kommende Timing vor.]

Wenn wir „Glück und Timing“ hören, klingt es, als ob man es dem „Zufall überlässt“,
aber in ihrem Fall verwandelten sie durch ihr ständiges Handeln den Zufall in eine Notwendigkeit.

◆ MITSURUs eigenes Beispiel
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Natürlich ist der Maßstab völlig anders, daher zögere ich, meinen eigenen Fall zu nennen,
aber ich gebe hier genau das wieder, was ich im MITSURU Blog Nr. 94 geschrieben habe.

Dies ist eine Geschichte aus meiner Vergangenheit.

Mein gezieltes strategisches Ziel (Erfolg mit einem Tanzteam) wurde nicht erreicht,
aber meine nicht-gezielte, nicht-strategische Arbeit (Tanzunterricht in Sportclubs) wuchs auf natürliche Weise und brachte Ergebnisse.

Ergänzend dazu die Details,
wie es zu diesem „natürlichen Wachstum und den Ergebnissen“ kam:

Natürlicher Stil = Choreografie von MITSURU.
Das Merkmal der Choreografie von MITSURU ist,
dass die Teilnehmer in den Tanzstunden das Gefühl bekommen: „Sogar ich konnte es!“

Ein Programm, das zu 100 % meine Weltanschauung ist — mit anderen Worten, Tanzstunden, die nur ich geben kann.
Es gibt „Menschen, die auf MITSURUs Unterricht warten“
und „Nur MITSURU kann MITSURUs Unterricht geben!“ — deshalb bewege ich mich ständig weiter.

Mit anderen Worten: Ich bin „eine Person, die sich weiter bewegt“.
Der Ort, an dem ich glänzen konnte, stellte sich als „Tanzunterricht in Sportclubs“ heraus.

Tatsächlich „gab ich die Niederlage zu und zog mich zurück“ von meinem Hauptziel,
aber meine Nebenarbeit wuchs, und
ich kam zu der Erkenntnis: „Das war meine Welt!“

Das ist alles.
Vielleicht etwas an den Haaren herbeigezogen, aber auch wenn der Maßstab anders ist,
denke ich insgeheim, dass ich irgendwie zu ihrer Reihe gehöre.
